Imidazole-containing polymer electrolyte membranes for fuel cell applications.
內容摘要：
Imidazole is an amphoteric five-membered heterocycle that can form either a cationic or anionic compound after either protonation or deprotonation. By taking advantage of the amphoteric characteristics, imidazole-containing polymers can be designed to act as proton exchange membranes and anion exchange membranes for fuel cells. Our previous studies have prepared imidazole-containing polymer electrolyte membranes in a variety of forms, including dense membranes, crosslinked membranes, porous membranes, asymmetric membranes, and nanocomposite membranes. This presentation will briefly introduce polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells' challenges. Meanwhile, the efforts we have made to improve the membrane properties to meet the requirements of fuel cell applications will be presented.
